OVERVIEW
Growth decisions rarely come down to one variable. Light levels tell you what a canopy is receiving, but not whether the root zone can support it, and treating them as separate monitoring problems means running separate equipment. The MX2310 measures both from one unit: research-grade PAR via an integrated LI-COR LI-190R sensor, alongside a LI-300/350 soil EC and volumetric water content sensor, plus internal temperature and RH.
Logged temperature and RH alongside PAR also enables on-device VPD calculation, so greenhouse and growth chamber conditions are visible without post-processing. This supports irrigation timing, dryback tracking in substrate-based growing, and early detection of overwatering through elevated VWC readings, suited to controlled environment agriculture and field-based crop research alike.
Bluetooth configuration and download via the HOBOconnect app means no cabling and no laptop in the field. Add an MX Data Plan for LI-COR Cloud upload if remote access across multiple sites is needed.
Important:
The HOBO MX2300 data loggers require the HOBOconnect App and a compatible mobile device. The system requirements for the HOBOconnect app can be found at the bottom of our HOBOconnect software page.
