The Water Leakage Detector sensor WLD 24 is designed to monitor and detect conductive liquids, making it ideal for preventing or minimising water damages. With its electrolytic AC voltage-based measuring procedure, it can detect various types of conductive liquids. The circuit sensitivity of the detector can be adjusted using a passive potentiometer to suit different application requirements.
The Water Leakage Detector WLD 24 features a relay output that provides an alarm signal, allowing for easy connection to a BMS controller or remote alarm annunciation panel. The relay settings can be manually adjusted via a DIP-Switch, which is an inherent part of the detector.
Installation options include mounting the Water Leakage Detector WLD 24 directly on the floor, with the electrode extensions placed under the unit for water and moisture sensing. Alternatively, it can be mounted on the wall using the external Water Detection Tape WDT.
The Water Detection Tape WDT is made of texturised stockinet-knitted polyester, with parallel uninsulated wires of soft annealed copper woven into it. The presence of moisture or water/liquid between the wires can be indicated by the Water Detection Tape WDT.
The functionality of the Water Leakage Detector WLD 24 can be tested by placing a wet finger on the electrode extensions under the unit. Similarly, the Water Leakage Detector WLD 24, together with the Water Detection Tape WDT, can be tested by placing a wet finger at the end of the wires of the tape. When moisture or water disappears, the detector will reset automatically, ensuring ongoing functionality.
The power supply for the Water Leakage Detector WLD 24 is 24 Vac/dc and the device features an LED in the cover (lid) that will light up when the relay output is activated. It senses changes in conductivity when moisture or water comes into contact with the electrode extensions under the unit, as well as when moisture or water is in contact with the external Water Detection Tape WDT.
