Monitor movement by people or animals in virtually any area or facility. Our passive infrared (PIR) Motion Detection Sensors help you increase security, coordinate building occupancy services and space booking, and safeguard critical assets and equipment by recording heat signals.

Monnit’s wireless Motion Detection Sensors can be used in any facility from office buildings to farms to data centers. The Standard Motion Detection Sensor delivers up to 80 degrees of sensing coverage. Get an alert on your mobile device via text, email, or call if people or animals move within a range of up to 15 feet.


Sense whats coming and going

The Wireless Motion Detection Sensor detects motion and movement using a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensing element. The element detects relative changes in temperature caused by warm bodies moving through the viewing area. Once the sensor detects movement it communicates with the iMonnit Online Sensor Monitoring and Notification System via an Alta gateway. iMonnit stores all data in the online system where the data can be reviewed and exported as a data sheet or graph. Notifications can be set up through the online system to alert the user when motion has been detected.

This sensor come standard with two replaceable AA batteries. The typical battery life is approximately 10 years.

    Monnit Gateway Options

    An integral component of any IoT network is the gateway. A gateway device allows for data from sensors to be transmitted to the iMonnit software platform.

Simply provide power and plug the gateway into an open Ethernet network port with an internet connection. It will then automatically connect with our online servers, providing the perfect solution for commercial locations where there is an active internet connection.

    Monnit 4G + Ethernet IoT Gateway

    The ALTA® by Monnit Wireless IoT Gateway combines a 4G LTE CAT-M1/NB2 cellular engine and Ethernet platform with Monnit’s wireless access point network to aggregate and communicate data from Monnit ALTA Wireless Sensors. The ALTA IoT Gateway allows ALTA Sensors to operate on the world’s leading cellular networks and stay connected to the Internet. The gateway uses AC main power but also has redundant power through a battery backup lasting up to 60 hours.

    To meet the global demand for enterprise IoT deployment, the IoT Gateway communicates with the cloud-based iMonnit® monitoring software via cellular transmission, making it ideal for remote locations or where the Internet isn’t available. The RJ-45 Ethernet jack allows local device configuration, diagnostics, and connectivity backup. The IoT Gateway is instrumental in sending sensor notifications via text, email, or call if user-defined conditions are met or exceeded.

    Online Sensor Monitoring Software

    iMonnit is a cloud based mobile internet platform and central hub for managing Monnit and ALTA products. All data is secured on dedicated servers operating Microsoft SQL Server. This online user interface is where all your device settings can be arranged, supervised, and modified to reflect your unique environment. OneTemp will look after the activation and setup of your new online iMonnit account free of charge. There is also a free mobile app for you to stay in control at all times. Start with the basic version or upgrade to iMonnit Premiere to enjoy the full features your Monnit experience can offer.

      Monnit Basic is included for free with all wireless sensors, providing basic features for you to configure and monitor your sensors online. These basic features only support one network and one registered user on an account.

      iMonnit Premiere allows for enhanced functionality of your wireless sensors and includes an advanced software feature set at a low annual cost. All of iMonnit's advanced features are availble for configuration. You can have more sensors on your account, support multiple users, and view floorplans for all your sensors.
