Instant alerts for passive resistive loads

A popular transducer interface solution for passive resistance loads up to 250K Ohms, Monnit’s sensors awake at user-specified times to monitor a resistive load. Captured analog data is then calculated into a resistance measurement. If the observed resistance deviates from user-set thresholds, the user is notified via text, email, or call. Instant alerts prevent unnecessary (and costly) downtime or the loss of research and irreplaceable samples.

Monnit’s Industrial Resistance Sensors can be retrofitted quickly to scientific sensors or equipment, such as batteries, that are used in the process and manufacturing sectors.

Monnit’s Industrial Resistance Sensor reads the resistance across any resistive load and reports back the measured resistance. The resistance sensor leads are meant to connect to passive devices only, connecting the sensor leads to any voltage or power source may damage the sensor. It is programmed to sleep for a user-given time interval (heartbeat) and then wake up, convert the analog data, mathematically compute the resistance, and transmit the data to the gateway, where it is then logged into the cloud service. The user can configure defined thresholds and have the system alert on threshold breaches.

This sensor come standard with two replaceable AA batteries. The typical battery life is approximately 10 years.

Installing the Monnit ALTA Resistance Sensor

This simple video tutorial will walk you through how to install the new ALTA Resistance Sensor on iMonnit.

Monnit Gateway Options

An integral component of any IoT network is the gateway. A gateway device allows for data from sensors to be transmitted to the iMonnit software platform.

Monnit Ethernet Wireless Gateway 4

Monnit’s Ethernet Gateways allow your Monnit Wireless Sensors to communicate with the iMonnit™ Online Wireless Sensor Monitoring and Notification System without the need for a PC. Simply provide power and plug the gateway into an open Ethernet network port with an internet connection. It will then automatically connect with our online servers, providing the perfect solution for commercial locations where there is an active internet connection.

Monnit 4G + Ethernet IoT Gateway

The ALTA® by Monnit Wireless IoT Gateway combines a 4G LTE CAT-M1/NB2 cellular engine and Ethernet platform with Monnit’s wireless access point network to aggregate and communicate data from Monnit ALTA Wireless Sensors. The ALTA IoT Gateway allows ALTA Sensors to operate on the world’s leading cellular networks and stay connected to the Internet. The gateway uses AC main power but also has redundant power through a battery backup lasting up to 60 hours.

To meet the global demand for enterprise IoT deployment, the IoT Gateway communicates with the cloud-based iMonnit® monitoring software via cellular transmission, making it ideal for remote locations or where the Internet isn’t available. The RJ-45 Ethernet jack allows local device configuration, diagnostics, and connectivity backup. The IoT Gateway is instrumental in sending sensor notifications via text, email, or call if user-defined conditions are met or exceeded.
